On Saturday, September 14, 2024, a team of 33 Mosaic Elementary staff members and their families proudly represented our school at the Dulles Day Plane Pull, an exciting annual event benefiting Special Olympics Virginia. This was the second time our school participated, and once again, our community came together for a great cause.

Our participation in the event was organized by Math Resource Teacher, Ms. Blevins, who led the charge in bringing our team together and rallying support. Thanks to the efforts of the team and generous donors, we raised an impressive $2,870 to support Special Olympics athletes across Virginia. A special shout-out goes to Amanda Blevins, Heather Brown, Courtney Stevens, and Jenny Davisson, who were our top fundraisers for the event and played a key role in helping us reach our fundraising goal!

But the real highlight? Competing in the main event: pulling an 82-ton FedEx Airbus A320! Our team pulled the massive airplane 12 feet in just 8.769 seconds!

We were also proud to be the only elementary school participating in this unique challenge, standing out among the many teams from across the region. It was a fantastic day filled with fun, teamwork, and a shared commitment to supporting Special Olympics Virginia.

Thank you to everyone who donated, participated, or cheered us on—we couldn’t have done it without you!
